Fire brigade NATO Air Base Geilenkirchen assists with fire in pallet factory in Brunssum

A massive fire broke out on Tuesday evening 3 March at the Bastin pallet trade at the Kranenpool industrial site in Brunssum. Fire brigade units assisted from all over South Limburg and Germany.
Also a special fire brigade vehicle, so called Crashtender from the neighboring NATO air base Geilenkirchen assisted. The firemen spent hours trying to prevent the burning piles of pallets from marking the buildings next door. They succeeded. No one was injured.

NATO airbase Geilenkirchen fire brigade has 3 fire trucks 'Panther 8x8' crashtender since 2019, which provides reliable options for airport rescue and firefighting.
These fire trucks are the first of this type to drive in Germany.

Specifications:
12.1 meters long, 3.60 meters high, 3.00 meters wide, total mass of 52 tons, 2 engines up to 1,400 hp, up to 13,200 liters of extinguishing capacity. Pump capacity of 10,000 l / min and acceleration from 0 to 80 km / h in less than 25 seconds maximum speed 135 km / h.
