Major General Korb

Major General Andreas Korb is the Commander of the NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force in Geilenkirchen, Germany. Prior to this assignment, he was the Director for Aviation Satefy of the Bundeswehr, Cologne.

Major General Korb completed his pilot training at Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training, Sheppard AFB, USA and at Fighter Bomber Wing 49, Fürstenfeldbruck, and his TORNADO Weapon System Training at Cottesmore, GBR and at Fighter Bomber Wing 38, Jever. He served as a TORNADO Pilot at Naval Air Wing 2, Eggebek and as a TORNADO Pilot and Operations Officer at Fighter Bomber Wing 31 “B”, Nörvenich.

Major General Korb has commanded the Flying Group at Fighter Bomber Wing 31 “B”, Nörvenich and was Wing Commander at the Tactical Air Wing 33, Büchel. He deployed to Afghanistan, where he was Chief Civil Aviation Transition Branch, HQ ISAF, Kabul. Additionally, he held various staff positions including Assistant Branch Chief for Air Force Operations at the Ministry of Defense (MoD), Bonn/Berlin, Executive Officer, Public Relations Officer und Operational Expert at the NATO Alliance Ground Surveillance Management Agency, Brussels, ACOS Air Force Operations, Air Force Headquarters, and Branch Chief Strategy & Operations II 3 (Mahgreb/ Middle East) at the MoD, Berlin.

Major General Andreas Korb was born on 09 June 1964 in Rhede, Germany. He is married and has two children. He has logged more than 2.300 flying hours, mainly on the TORNADO.
