Major Iuliano was born in 1984 in Caserta, Italy. In 2003 he enrolled in the Italian Air Force Academy and commissioned as an officer in the 2006, beginning his career as a Second Lieutenant (OF-1).
Upon graduation, with honors, Major Iuliano was awarded a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the Federico II of Naples University. In 2007, he obtained a Level-II master’s degree in Space Missions and Services at La Sapienza University in Rome. Finally, in 2019 he was awarded a Level-II master’s degree in Leadership and Strategic Analysis from the University of Florence; culminating with full marks.
From 2009 to 2013, as a First Lieutenant (OF-1), he served in the RESIA the IT Department in the Air Force (RESIA), located in Rome. Working in the System Development Group he was responsible for design, deployment, and management of databases, data structure and business intelligence systems.
From 2013 to 2014 he served as Configuration Manager in the J6 Ops/Plans cell of Regional Command West HQ (RC-West), during the ISAF mission in Afghanistan. In this role, he was responsible for managing the NATO and ISAF systems and networks within RC-West, including classified networks, as well as operational and command and control systems.
From 2014 to 2022 he served in various roles back in the IT Department. At the rank of Captain (OF-2) he led the Database Office and Configuration Control Office. Shortly after this he was promoted to the rank of Major (OF-3) and served as the System Development Service head and Digital Transformation Service head.
His decorations include: Long Service Cross Medal, NATO Medal Operations – Resolute Support, NATO Medal Operations – Africa, NATO Medal Operations – ISAF (Afghanistan), and the Commemorative Cross for international relief operations.
